The work schedule will now include Saturdays on the $9.7-million project to widen two kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway between West Shore Parkway and the Leigh Road interchange.

Saturday work will go on through the spring and bring delays from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., with single-lane traffic in both directions.

The project already has a full schedule on weekdays, when motorists can continue to expect intermittent delays of up to 20 minutes from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., as well as single-lane traffic in both directions during that period.

During the week, southbound stoppages don’t begin until 9 a.m. and there are no northbound stoppages from 2:30 p.m.-6 p.m. to facilitate rush-hour traffic.

The project is expected to be completed this summer.
