The Delta Lifeboat was out on the water during the bathtub races in Tsawwassen last weekend.

Safety for the second annual Tsawwassen Bathtub Race was provided by the Canadian Lifeboat Institution’s Delta Lifeboat. The RMCSar unit from Point Roberts also stood by to assist if needed.

During the three races three bathtubs had to be assisted by the lifeboats rescue boats, according to the institution. One lost an engine, one almost lost an engine and one had mechanical failure.  All were assisted back to shore.  Apart from these there were no other problems and no injuries even though the racing was conducted in fairly choppy conditions.

All are to be congratulated for another safe event, especially the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen.
