VANCOUVER — Four people were stabbed early Saturday outside a Granville Street nightclub with a history of violence.

Vancouver police say the stabbings occurred outside the Cabana Lounge at 1159 Granville St. about 3 a.m.

“Four people were stabbed and taken to hospital. All victims have non-life-threatening injuries,” Vancouver police spokeswoman Tania Visintin said. “No suspects in custody at this time.”

Visintin says officers remain at the scene

Two years ago, Kalwinder (Kris) Thind was killed outside the Cabana Lounge while trying to break up a fight.

Thind, a 23-year-old nightclub promoter at the Granville Strip spot, was stabbed after intervening in a melée that started inside the club and then spilled out on the street about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 27, 2018.

He died in hospital.

Thind had been working at the Cabana Lounge for less than a month.

No charges have been laid, despite the incident happening in front of dozens of witnesses.
