A Saanich police canine unit arrested two men after a convenience store was robbed at knife point early Thursday.
Police were called to a store on Burnside Road West at Harriet Road Thursday at 12:30 a.m. after two men entered a store wearing medical masks and demanded a money while wielding a knife, said Saanich police spokesman Const. Markus Anastasiades.
No one inside the store was injured.
The men fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
A canine unit, including police dog Grimm, arrived at the scene and tracked down two suspects in a park one block away.
Two men, ages 30 and 52, were arrested and are facing charges of robbery and other criminal offences. The pair remain in police custody.
