A cow with an important message in Delta

There was an unusual cow sighting in Delta yesterday, but its message was an important one. This cow on the back of a truck was promoting the preservation of the Canadian dairy industry.

There was an unusual cow sighting in Delta yesterday, but its message was an important one.

This cow on the back of a truck was promoting the preservation of the Canadian dairy industry. This picture was taken outside the Tsawwassen Mills Mall and posted on the Ladner's Landing Facebook group. It's of a tour undertaken by Henk Schuurmans who this month resumed his cross-Canada journey to raise awareness of the threat facing the dairy industry.
Henk and his wife Bettina Schuurmans originally began the tour in a tractor in Ontario this summer but they were involved in a collision with a semi-trailer truck. Bettina lost her life as a result. Henk recovered well enough to resume his trip, this time with daughters Lize and Emily. They wanted to complete the Canadian Milk Tour in Bettina's memory.
Reports have Ottawa in NAFTA talks set to possibly bow to a U.S. demand for significantly more access to Canada's protected dairy market.
