Are you living with dentures that don’t fit properly?

Not only do poorly-fitted dentures impact your diet, limiting what and how you can eat, they impact your appearance… and your self-esteem.

With implant-supported dentures, however, the fit is tight, reliable, and stable, says Brian Ko of Prime Denture Clinic. And the impact that implant-supported dentures can have on your quality of life is significant,

“People have told us that the way their dentures look make them smile more,” Brian says. “I had one patient who would only go out in public in the morning to run her errands. After that, she would go back home, take out her dentures and hide. But after she came to us for implant-supported dentures, she regained her confidence. Now she goes out in public whenever she wants and loves the way she looks.”

Both Brian Ko and Patrick Marcelo, also from Prime Denture Clinic, strive to create dentures that mimic real teeth and gums as closely as possible, so that patients feel less self-conscious about their appearance.

“Implant-supported dentures can be made to cover less of the palate, because this type of denture does not rely on suction at the top of the mouth to stay in place,” Brian explains. “This can have a positive impact on speech and comfort.”

“The way it feels is also very important,” he adds. “The denture may look great but if it doesn’t feel comfortable, the patient won’t want to wear them.”

Over time, the denturist can make adjustments as needed to ensure your dentures continue to look and feel as they should, says Brian, whose clinic also offers rebase, reline and repair services.

“Not surprisingly, patients are often thrilled with how well they can chew compared to their old dentures,” he says of patients who come to his clinic for a new set of implant-supported dentures. “It’s a great feeling to be able to eat foods they haven’t been able to eat in a long time.”
