The big question following the federal election was if the federal NDP could negotiate some sort of deal in exchange for keeping a federal Liberal government afloat.
The Liberals, of course, don’t have a majority and need another party to support it.
The Conservatives might do that when it comes to pipeline issues – although that would be weird considering the hatred the party has for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The Bloc could also support the Liberals.
On Thursday, Burnaby South MP and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will take his shot at reaching some sort of agreement. Singh will meet with Trudeau to “discuss the NDP's priorities for Canadians and how the NDP will get to work to make people's lives better.”

On the shortlist for me:
1. Work together to deliver universal pharmacare for all.
2. Stop taking Indigenous kids to court & drop the appeal of the ruling on First Nations child welfare.

Sure, flowery stuff from the NDP’s comms department, but Pharmacare and other issues will be laid out by Singh. I doubt the Trans Mountain pipeline will take up much of the conversation.
Singh does and does not hold power in this situation. He’ll need a deft hand at brokering some sort of deal in which he can claim a victory.
According to a news release, there will be a press conference after the meeting with Trudeau and Singh. I expect lots of smiles.
