*Update: TransLink says a computer connectivity issue has been fixed and the Expo line SkyTrain is now operational, although riders might still experience some delays.

Bad news for transit users in Burnaby this morning as TransLink announced at 7:20 a.m. a shutdown of service.

“A connectivity issue with our computer system has caused an impact to Expo Line SkyTrain service west of Edmonds Station,” said TransLink. “There is currently no service between Royal Oak and Waterfront Station on the Expo Line in both directions. A shuttle bus is in place between Edmonds and Waterfront Station in both directions. Millennium Line and Canada Line are unaffected, and are running normally. Additional security and Transit Police are at the stations to ensure passenger safety and crowd control. Our crews are currently on site to restore full service.”

Riders seeking alternative routes are encouraged to consult the Trip Planner (http://tripplanning.translink.ca) online, or contact the customer information desk (604-953-3333) for trip planning advice.
