The annual Mr. Wildcat contest at Burnaby Central Secondary saw a three-way tie for first and another contestant declared ‘Mr. Macho’ in May 1986.

The competition, judged by female staff and former students, was designed to test the poise and fashion sense of male students at the school – and provide an “updated version of the traditional female beauty contest.”

After modelling sportswear, evening wear and answering one question put to them by the judges, Len Miller (18), Mike Musgrove (17) and Scott Kerr (17) were all named Mr. Wildcat 1986.

Seventeen-year-old Kevin Fraser, meanwhile, was named Mr. Macho.
