Thank you Cathy Griffin for your letter to the editor: Did I miss the memo the pandemic allows bad Burnaby driving?

During this pandemic, while waiting to get back to work, I too witnessed poor habits but these are from cyclists.

While it is great that more cyclists are mounting up, it saddens me that many think riding on a non-shared sidewalk is a green light.

Sorry, it is not.

Riding a bicycle on a sidewalk, unless deemed shared, is breaking a city by-aw.

While it is a wonderful way to ride to work, get out of the house, enjoy some exercise and explore the outdoors, laws and sidewalk users need to be respected.

If a cyclist can only access their destination and chooses to "cut in" on the sidewalk then by all means, but please "walk your bike."

Once you are able to return to the road, then do so. Sidewalks are for pedestrians. My utmost respect and admiration to our law-biding cyclists. Ride on.
