Opinion: This ex-Burnaby candidate got trounced in Alberta. Looks good on her

Yeah, I’m late to this, but better late than never when it comes to political humiliation. Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson - the anti-immigration, anti-SOGI woman who managed to garner 10.

Yeah, I’m late to this, but better late than never when it comes to political humiliation.

Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson - the anti-immigration, anti-SOGI woman who managed to garner 10.7% of the Burnaby South byelection vote in February for the awful People’s Party of Canada – decided to run in the riding of Alberta-Lacombe in the October federal election.

I think the reasoning was that if she could get 10.7% of the vote in the more liberal Burnaby riding, then just look what she could do in an ultra-conservative Alberta riding.

It didn’t go well.

She came in fourth out of five candidates with a measly 3.6%. It was a humiliating drubbing. Even the candidate for the Liberals – the party of Trudeau that she hates so much – finished ahead of Tyler Thompson. She, did, however, manage to beat the Green candidate, but just barely.

So there’s that.

It looks good on a candidate who is all about division during a time when Canada needs to come together. Just take a read through her Twitter feed to see all the vitriol. She even still has a tweet up about the fake "rainbow poppies" story that has been thoroughly debunked.

Ugh.
