For the third year in a row, both Simon Fraser University’s Marcello and Matteo Polisi have received Div. 2 Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-West Region honours in men's soccer.

It was more recognition for the Coquitlam brothers, topped by Matteo’s selection to the NCAA Div. 2 All-American second team, on the heels of last year’s All-American award.

Matteo was the only player in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference to be selected to the All-West first team in 2019. He has now been selected to the All-West first team in all three of his years at Simon Fraser -- something which hasn't been done by an SFU player since Magnus Kristensen back in 2017.

A forward who finished with eight goals over 15 games, Matteo was also named the West Region Player of the Year back in 2018.

Marcello, who tallied twice while anchoring the squad’s midfield this past season, was named to the All-West second team, and adds this honour to a second team selection back in 2018, as well as a first team selection in 2017.

The All-West honours come after both Polisi's were also unanimous choices to All-GNAC first team in 2019, also their third year in a row receiving such honours.
