With many grocery store workers continuing on the job at great risk to their personal safety, some companies are taking steps to protect them.

At the Save-On-Foods stores in Burnaby, plexiglass shields are being installed at checkouts to protect them while customers are bringing through their items.

Signs and floor decals have been added in high-traffic areas, according to the company. A limited amount of customers allowed in-store.

The hour from 7AM-8AM is now reserved for seniors and those most at risk. Seating is removed from common areas.
