The McGill branch of Burnaby Public Library is hosting an author visit by Kevin Chong on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Chong will be on hand from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to read from his latest book, The Plague, and talk about how he set out to retell Albert Camus’ novel La Peste – but updated and set in the Vancouver of the near future.

The book will also be under study in the library’s book discussion circle for October. The group meets on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 7 to 8 p.m. to discuss the book. Before that, you’ll need to register and head to the McGill branch to pick up your copy of the novel so you can read it ahead of time.

The McGill library is at 4595 Albert St. For information or to sign up, see www.bpl.bc.ca/events or call 604-299-8955.
