Letter: We shouldn't be opening Burnaby bars right now

The social distancing will go on for two years.

It will take the public time to get used to seeing people out in the public. Busses will be crowded once again in two years’ time.

Of the 400,000 people who are out of work, they’re supposed to be looking for some means of employment to support themselves.

Living on government assistance just isn't enough. I myself will be very lucky to land a job right away as a dishwasher or possibly a warehouse worker.

With businesses starting to reopen this month sometime, I don't think bars should be opened right away. It only encourages people to go out and drink (in groups).

We’re already seeing an increase in people going to the liquor store to buy alcohol. Some of the younger men are drinking on the bus and some are disoriented and passed out
