Tsawwassen entrepreneur elected Toastmasters International VP

Tsawwassen’s Margaret Page has been elected first vice president of Toastmasters International, the world’s leading organization devoted to communication and leadership skills development.

Page was elected to the one-year term at the organization’s 88th annual International Convention, held Aug. 21 to 24 in Denver, Colo.

As a member of the Toastmasters International board of directors, Page is a “working ambassador” for the organization. She works with the board to develop and support the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.

An entrepreneur and investor, Page is the founder and co-founder of several companies, including Westminster Property Management Ltd., Precision Contractors Ltd., Quality Tire and Treading Ltd., Etiquette Page Enterprises and Beyond the Page Coaching and Training Ltd.

As a champion for women in politics, Page has been active over the last decade in supporting, developing and delivering campaign schools for women in B.C. and beyond to provide them with the tools to serve at all three levels of government.

A Toastmaster since 2003, Page is a member of three clubs – the Advanced Speakers Club of Vancouver, Ambassadors Toastmasters of Tsawwassen and Spotlight Speakers of Richmond. She has held a number of leadership positions within Toastmasters and has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation, the highest level of achievement in the organization.

“Toastmasters transforms people's lives as we hold each other to a higher standard and lift each other up,” says Page. “It has absolutely opened up doors of opportunity that I wouldn't have even imagined for myself.”

Toastmasters International’s membership exceeds 358,000 in more than 16,800 clubs in 143 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators and leaders.
