As part of Delta Senior Secondary’s Christmas donation campaign, students are hosting a new way to safely donate gifts to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students and staff at DSS have been busy collecting food items, gift cards and cash donations as part of their Twenty Days of Giving campaign to support 25 local families and the South Delta Food Bank. This year the school’s interact club is hosting a community drive thru food collection on Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 3 to 6 p.m.

All members of the community need to do is drive up to the school’s front parking lot to drop off non-perishable food items, new toiletries, gift cards, cash or cheque donations.

If you are unable to make the drive thru event on Tuesday, the school asks you contact the school office at 604-946-4194 to make arrangements to drop off your item at the main entrance doors at 4615 51st street in Ladner before the campaign ends on Dec. 7.

Last year, the campaign garnered thousands of food items, hundreds of gifts and more than $7,000 in gift cards.
