Steve Darling returns as emcee for Reach Child and Youth Development Society’s eighth Annual Reach for the Stars fundraising gala on Saturday, Oct. 3.

This year, Reach for the Stars: Gardens of Growth gala will be broadcast online in order to keep participants safe in this time of social distancing. Vancouver Fraser Port Authority returns as presenting sponsor and Canadian Autoparts Toyota (CAPTIN) returns as platinum sponsor.

“We have an exciting evening planned that will be heartwarming, engaging and inspiring! Although we won’t physically be together, we hope to bring everyone together while apart for a special evening supporting our children in typical Reach fashion,” said Reach development manager Kristin Bibbs. “The online event will be full of entertainment, heartwarming stories, children’s performances, an auction, raffles and more!”

Reach for the Stars on-line gala will last for one hour instead of the in-person four hour event guests have enjoyed for the past seven years. Darling will present live from the Reach Children’s Development Centre in Ladner and the Gardens of Growth silent auction and online raffle will be live later in September, several days before the gala itself. Guests will receive a gift basket to augment their viewing experience and tickets cost $50 each with a reduced rate for those who have been affected by COVID-19. Register at www.reachgala.com for the gala and to browse the silent auction open to the public.

Reach Child and Youth Development Society is a non-profit charitable society that has been providing services to children and their families since 1959.
