A blazing car fire brought Richmond Fire-Rescue crews to Shell Road and Highway 91 on Sunday afternoon.

According to a video that circulated on WeChat, a Chinese social media platform, the front-half of a car was seen to have caught on fire with members of Richmond’s fire rescue department at the scene battling the fire.

Jim Wishlove, Richmond Fire-Rescue deputy chief, said his crew arrived on scene at 3 p.m. and found no one was injured in the accident.

“There was a car accident, so two cars crashed. One of them had a small fire as a result of the crash,” said Wishlove.

He encourages people to phone 911 as soon as an accident occurs, so they can get to the scene as fast as they could.
