Re: Delta No. 2 in region: Maclean’s, Aug. 29
The mayor said he was proud of the 59th best place to live and rightfully so. He also said that Delta council has a housing plan going forward. I hope there are some major changes as to the size of family homes being built.
Point in fact are the two “hotels” being built on Linden Drive. They are not what I call a young family’s affordable home and do nothing to enhance the street or community. I would encourage the mayor to go have a look for himself to see the handiwork of the staff that gave the OK on these projects.
There is one thing that No.2 in the region missed and that is the need for Mountain View Manor to be replaced. This has been talked about for years but to date there have been shovels in the ground to get on with it.
I have emailed Delta’s MLAs but no response yet on this matter that is of great importance to the community at large. So I say to the mayor, maybe you can jump on board and help get the shovels in the ground and get Delta’s rating up to maybe No. 50.
