The Delta fire department is recognizing excellence and exemplary service to the citizens of Delta.
Recently, the department was presented with a number of federal and provincial awards. The presentation was made in a virtual way in lieu of the Delta Fire & Emergency Services Awards ceremony, which was cancelled due to COVID-19.
“Several Delta firefighters have been presented with their long service Federal Canadian Exemplary and Provincial Long Service medals this week,” said fire Chief Paul Schofield. “Delta Fire & Emergency Services also presented retirement awards and recognized those firefighters who have completed their one year probation. Recipients also received a joint letter of congratulations from Mayor George Harvie and myself.
