The sun is finally here – and so is a seasonal reminder from the Delta Police to not to leave children or pets unattended in hot vehicles.
According to Delta police in a post on their Facebook page, on Tuesday officers were called to a mall in Tsawwassen about a dog left in the front seat of the vehicle for an extended length of time, with the window open just a crack.
Officers managed to locate the owner of the dog by activating emergency lights.
“Unfortunately our queries showed the owner had done this before, so she was issued a $200 bylaw ticket for inadequate ventilation and care of confined animal,” said DPD.
