Ice Hawks edge Trappers

Solid defence and a 29-save performance from goalie Hunter Tarves propelled the Delta Ice Hawks to a 2-1 road victory over the Langley Trappers Wednesday night.

Bradley Fortin opened the scoring for Delta late in the first period only to see Langley tie things up just before the intermission.

After a scoreless second period, Mitchell Lavoie scored early in the third to give Delta the win, their sixth of the season.

The solid effort was just 24 hours after Delta skated to a 4-4 tie with the Richmond Sockeyes in Ladner in the first game of their rival Tunnel Series.

Delta is back in action Tuesday night when they entertain the Surrey Knights. Face-off is 7:35 p.m. at the Ladner Leisure Centre.
