Lions Gate Hospital Foundation hosted its first national philanthropy day community presentation on Nov. 15. This was a special day set aside to celebrate the extraordinary change that fundraising and philanthropy have helped to create globally. In a special presentation in the hospital’s atrium, the foundation honoured changemakers who have quietly been making a difference to health care on the North Shore. The recipients included Patricia James and Ken Rekrutiak, North Shore Save-On-Foods stores, the Buckley family and Old Spaghetti Factory, and the Royal Canadian Legion branches 118, 114 and 60. The foundation encourages the public to continue to help improve lives by making a donation to support critical care at LGH.
