God’s Lake, a piece of documentary theatre, is showing at Presentation House Theatre tonight through Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Through a series of powerful monologues, taken verbatim from the playwright’s interviews with community members of Gods Lake Narrows in Manitoba, the play explores the strength and resilience of people living in a remote community following terrible tragedy. A launch event for the initiative is set for tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Highlands United Church in North Vancouver, featuring a short documentary film screening, expert speakers and wine and hors d’oeuvres, with proceeds going to helping Edgemont businesses move away from offering plastic bags.
