North Vancouver cartoonist Graham Harrop is hoping to put smiles on a few faces by offering free downloads of a book of illustrations he completed recently documenting the people who are contributing to the country’s efforts to fight COVID-19.

The Little Thank You Book: for helping us through the pandemic will be available as a free Amazon download from Sunday, May 10 to Thursday, May 14.

"I wrote the book as a thank you to all those people who give so much to help others during this trying time," said Harrop.

The illustrator's BackBench cartoon appeared in the Globe and Mail for more than two decades, and he is the creator of the Reuben award-winning comic strip Ten Cats.

The Little Thank You Book follows the feline theme, featuring a series of cartoons of cute cats carrying out essential services such as caring for the elderly, growing food, keeping buildings clean or driving buses.

The book is also available for purchase in print through Amazon, with partial proceeds from each sale going to the Salvation Army.
