Musical performance by country roots music singer-songwriter Jimmy Porier from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Steveston’s winter food and artisan market, held at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, features locally baked, grown, caught and crafted products, seasonal events and activities for all ages, and performances by home-grown musicians and entertainers. Operated by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society, the market also features community organizations for special in-market events.

The Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra's end-of-term concert celebrating the holiday season and featuring all divisions of the orchestra! For over 45 years, the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra (RDYO) has provided an orchestral education program for young musicians. The RDYO currently serves approximately 150 string, wind, brass, and percussion students, all in an ensemble setting.

Free Film Screening: People of the Ice

For over 4,000 years, the Inuit have lived in harmony with their Arctic environment. In this frozen landscape, survival depends on a deep understanding of the natural world. Today, global warming threatens the very nature of their habitat. As the ice disappears, so does the Inuit culture it is intimately connected to. People of the Ice (52 minutes) looks at climate change through the eyes of Inuit from several generations, showing how Inuit must draw on their ancient traditions to survive as the planet heats up. This program is held in partnership with the National Film Board.

ArtRich 2019
Richmond Art Gallery at 7700 Minoru Gate
The Richmond Arts Coalition is delighted to once again partner with the Richmond Art Gallery for ArtRich 2019, our third bi-annual, juried exhibition. This exhibition provides an opportunity for emerging and established artists from Richmond and nearby communities to exhibit together. This year, ArtRich celebrates artists with a strong connection to the Lower Mainland, and features their experiences of living in the region. The entries do not fit any specific theme, but rather reflect the diversity of our community. The 63 artworks from 63 local artists included this year were chosen by a panel of three art professionals, Nan Capogna, Paige Gratland, and Hannamari Jalovaara, and represent a variety of mediums, from painting to sculpture to textiles. ArtRich 2019 will also feature a set of People’s Choice awards for our community’s favourite artworks, with cash prizes. Awards will be announced by the Richmond News at the end of the exhibition. The opening reception will take place on Dec. 6, 7 - 9 p.m., and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

Songs In The Snow: A Vintage Christmas

Different dates will have different performers! Gather friends and family to welcome the holiday season with the Songs in the Snow concert series in Steveston Museum's Town Square Park. This is a free, family-friendly holiday event partnership between Steveston Historical Society, the Richmond Arts Coalition and Steveston Museum & Visitor Centre. Featuring local musicians, Girl Guides carolling in period costumes, children's crafts, hot beverages sponsored by G&F Financial, local vendors, and more, these events are not to be missed. This year, each of our three nights supports a different local charity. Bring the whole family for a night of holiday cheer. The series goes from 4 to 6 p.m. each Saturday evening whether it’s raining, snowing or dry.

Greg performs original compositions and an eclectic mix of songs from traditional folk and country to 50’s and 60’s pop-rock.
