June 1: An Evening with Dee Daniels

Once you attend one of Dee’s concerts and hear her amazing and unique combination of jazz, gospel and blues you will always want more! Dee has shared the stage with orchestras across the United States and Canada and now the Richmond Orchestra and Chorus are thrilled to be performing with her in this very special concert. The Chorus will offer a gospel-style set of pieces, while the Orchestra backs Dee up in some of her jazz favourites. This will be an evening not to be missed!

June 9: Chat in Lee Nam's Studio: Curators' Talk

RAG Director Shaun Dacey hosts a conversation in Karen Tam’s installation With wings like clouds hung from the sky with Art Gallery of Greater Victoria Curator Haema Sivanesan and Griffin Art Projects Director Lisa Baldissera. June 13: Collage Night

Get together with friends and make some art! Inspired by the Karen Tam exhibition, participants are invited to cut and paste while you chat, listen to music, and sip some tea at our next Collage Night social. This free event is for artists and art lovers to gather in the Art Gallery spaces for a fun art night. RAG programs staff will open their vast collection of cool collage materials to lead a hands-on collage-making night for adults. Registration required due to limited seating.

June 15: Pacific Rim Kite Festival

June 16: Celebration of Musqueam Expression

Join in for a public gathering to celebrate the successful completion of the Musqueam Artist-in-Residence workshops, presented in partnership with the Richmond Public Library. A small, public celebration and reception will be hosted by the Richmond Public Library, Brighouse Branch on Sunday, June 16 from 2pm-4pm. The event will include a performance by the Richmond-based Coastal Wolf Pack drumming and singing group.

June 22: Welcoming the Sun: A Celebration of Indigenous Arts and Culture

Join in for a celebration of Indigenous Arts and Culture, presented in partnership with Connections Community Services Centre and the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society. This annual event, held at the historic Cannery in Steveston, is a celebration timed with National Indigenous Peoples Day and the summer solstice (June 21). Performances, story-telling, workshops, demos, food, and activities for all ages will be presented both indoors and outdoors at the national historic site from 12noon to 4pm.
