The City of Richmond is looking for the public’s feedback on its local arts strategy after a draft was approved earlier this month.

On May 13, council approved the draft arts strategy for 2019-2024 which serves as a guide for residents and the city to help the arts thrive in Richmond.

Now, Richmondites can have their say on the strategy and share feedback by email by the end of the month.

According to the city, the draft strategy was the result of months of community consultation, dialogue and pop-up kiosks throughout Richmond. Over 470 surveys on the strategy were completed in both English and Cantonese and 500 pieces of feedback were collected at various engagement events.

The draft strategy includes information on where the city is at now with its arts plans, how Richmond currently supports the arts and trends in the sector. A summary of the feedback gathered so far is also included.

To read the draft strategy, visit www.HowArtWorks.ca. Feedback can be emailed to culture@richmond.ca by Friday, May 31.
