BCCDC updates its COVID-19 data by health service region on Thursday evenings.

Map showing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Greater Vancouver region, by health service delivery area: North Shore – Coast Garibaldi (North and West Vancouver, Bowen Island, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Howe Sound, Bella Coola Valley and Central Coast); Vancouver; Richmond; Fraser North (New Westminster, Burnaby, Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows and Tri-Cities) and Fraser South (Langley, Delta, Surrey, South Surrey/White Rock).

The number of COVID-19 cases in Richmond reported on Nov. 26 was 128 more than reported the previous week, according to data from BC Centre for Disease Control.

This brings the total number of cases in Richmond to 854 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The previous week's difference in cases, 244, was the highest seen in one week in Richmond so far.

While the number of cases continues to rise quickly across the province, Richmond’s cases per capita are lower than surrounding health service areas.

Normally, the BCCDC updates its total count on Thursday afternoon, but last week the data was delayed.

The BCCDC notes that not all COVID-19 cases are tested and reported, and that the virus can be circulated undetected in the community.
