Man found guilty of manslaughter for Richmond woman’s homicide

A man has been found guilty of manslaughter for the homicide of a 19-year-old Richmond woman.

Solaris Dey was found guilty of the manslaughter of Aspen Pallot on Nov. 13 in BC Supreme Court, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has announced. Dey’s trial first began on June 16.

“This was a tragic case and our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Aspen’s family,” said Sgt. Frank Jang of IHIT.

“We hope this news helps them in their healing journey.”

Pallot was found dead inside a home at the south-west corner of Westminster Highway and Minoru Boulevard in Oct. 2018.

A short time after her body was discovered by police, Dey, who was 23 at the time, was arrested.  

Dey’s next court date is Nov. 25.
