The number of new COVID-19 cases in Richmond has been rising at a steady pace – in the past week, there were 32 new cases detected. The previous week’s new case total was 34.

According to data released by the BC Centre for Disease Control on Thursday, there have been a total of 337 cases in Richmond since the beginning of the pandemic.

In B.C., cases rose in early fall, and the total number of cases has been more than 100 almost daily.

On Thursday, Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, reported 142 new cases in the past 24 hours across the province.

There were 74 people in hospital with COVID-19 of whom 24 were in intensive care.
