There’s still over a week left in the campaign, but the 7th Annual PJ Project has already collected more than half their pajama goal and over $1,500 to help transition homes.

On Dec. 20, Steveston’s Arts Connection will be presenting Jeremy’s Memorial Foundation Against Domestic Violence and Nova Transition House with their largest-ever pajama and cash donations, collected as part of this year’s PJ Project.

To date, the project has collected 268 pairs of pajamas and $1,533 in cash donations from families and students who attend the Arts Connection and Renaissance Kids, an early childhood education centre in Steveston on No. 2 Road.

The donations will be distributed to various transition homes across B.C. for women and children as they arrive at the houses. According to the Jeremy’s Memorial website, there are over 90 transition houses across the province and each needs up to 200 pairs of pajamas each year.

The Arts Connection, housed in the same building as Renaissance Kids, connects people of all-ages to visual, performing arts, and STEAM programs.

The project will wrap up with a pancake breakfast next week, during which the donations will also be presented.

Jeremy’s Memorial was founded in 2001 in Richmond by the family of Jeremy Harris, who was a victim of domestic violence, according to the foundation’s website.
