Update: Power slowly returning to Richmond Hydro customers

Almost 2,000 BC Hydro customers in southeastern Richmond are without power Thursday afternoon.

Power is slowly returning from a power outaged that affected almost 2,000 BC Hydro customers in the Ironwood area of Richmond Thursday afternoon

Crews are on site with power still out from west of Horseshoe Way, north of Horseshoe  Place, east of No. 4 Road and South of Steveston Highway.

According to Hydro, the power outage — which affects 1,960 customers — extends north of Finn Road, east of Gilbert Road, west of Highway 99 and south of Snowdon Avenue.

Crews were on site at 4 p.m. with the cause of outage still under investigation.

A second, smaller outage nearby is still affecting 91 customers in the area west of Ryan Road, north of Roselea Crescent, east of Rosedene Crescent and south of Williams Road.

This outage is also under investigation with crews having arrived at 4 p.m.

A third outage, affecting 11 customers in the 10000 to 11000 block of No. 5 Road off of Williams Road should have crews on-site by 5:30 p.m.

The power in all three areas has been off since just after 3 p.m.
