Letters: Richmond should be wary of the hand that feeds us

Dear Editor, Re: “Who picks up the tab matters,” column , Dec. 19. Thank you for your editorial. Nothing is for nothing! The only force that can defy totalitarian control is free individuals. That is why China does not tolerate personal freedom.

Re: “Who picks up the tab matters,” column, Dec. 19. 

Thank you for your editorial.

Nothing is for nothing!

The only force that can defy totalitarian control is free individuals.

That is why China does not tolerate personal freedom. Ask the one million Uyghur detained in camps for re-training. 

We need civic leaders with the personal, moral courage to say, “This is wrong!”

We do not need to celebrate an oppressive regime.

Giving China the opportunity to influence us is wrong and dangerous.
