COVID-19 outbreak declared over at one New Westminster site

Fraser Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak over at Good Samaritan Victoria Heights, an assisted living facility in New Westminster that is owned and operated by The Good Samaritan Society.

Fraser Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak over at Good Samaritan Victoria Heights, an assisted living facility in New Westminster that is owned and operated by The Good Samaritan Society. 

“With the implementation of comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to COVID-19 in care facilities, there are no longer any COVID-19 cases at this location,” read a news release.

But Fraser Health has declared COVID-19 outbreaks at Mayfair Terrace Retirement Residence in Port Coquitlam and Gateway Assisted Living for Seniors in Surrey. Mayfair Terrace Retirement Residence is an assisted living and independent living facility owned and operated by Sienna Senior Living. Gateway Assisted Living for Seniors is an assisted living facility that is privately owned.

A resident at Mayfair Terrace and a staff member at Gateway Assisted Living for Seniors have tested positive for COVID-19. Rapid response teams are at both sites. Communication with residents and families is underway.
