Bowen Island is beyond unique, it brings a sense of calm, and “a sense of community so strong you can almost feel the hugs.”

This is the highly abbreviated version of the “Bowen Story,” which was carved out of more than 400 stories of Bowen Island told by residents, visitors and businesses to the Economic Development Council’s branding committee.

Last Tuesday, Sheree Johnson told the more than 60 Bowen business owners in attendance of the EDC’s interactive evening that they are a big part of the Bowen story.

“You all Bowenize your businesses,” Johnson said. “People work with you because they know they can’t get that feeling anywhere else.”

And what would a Bowenized business look like? It’s all laid out in the Bowen Best Business Practices Handbook.
