Boweners have the chance to witness a different kind of council meeting this week, one with 26 members from all over the Salish Sea.

The Islands Trust, the federation of islands of which Bowen is one, is holding its quarterly council meeting Tuesday and Wednesday at the Bowen Lodge. The agenda is available here. The meetings are open to the public.

But first there’s an Islands 2050 engagement event Monday evening, 6:15 p.m. at Cove Commons. The $60,000 project is “a public engagement process designed to help everyone plan for the challenges and opportunities the Islands Trust Area will face in the next 30 years, particularly as we prepare for the realities of climate change,” according to the Trust website.

There’s more information on Islands 2050 website.
