Police issue public warning after attacks

The Vancouver Police are warning the public after three recent attacks on women on the Cambie Street corridor. The first incident took place Sept. 2 around 3:30 a.m.

The Vancouver Police are warning the public after three recent attacks on women on the Cambie Street corridor. The first incident took place Sept. 2 around 3:30 a.m. when a 24-year-old woman was walking alone in the area of West 18th Avenue and Cambie Street when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man. The next incident happened three days later around 1 a.m. when a 23-year-old woman walking alone near the intersection of Cambie and West 29th Avenue was also grabbed from behind.

The latest incident Sept. 8 also happened late at night when a 19-year-old woman walking near Cambie and West 55th Avenue was knocked to the ground from behind. In all three incidents, the women screamed, fought back and the attacker ran away. They described him as caucasian and of average height and build.
