Vancouver police seek bus stop bandit

Vancouver police are searching for a "bus stop bandit” after two women were robbed at knifepoint Saturday, Jan. 31. The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Two women, aged 25 and 30, were waiting for a bus on Prior Street near Campbell Avenue.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Two women, aged 25 and 30, were waiting for a bus on Prior Street near Campbell Avenue. A man armed with a large butcher knife approached them from the shadows. He demanded their valuables and took off after nabbing one woman’s bag. He was last seen running westbound on Prior Street.

Neither woman was injured, but both were extremely shaken up.

Police believe the suspect may have been hanging around the Strathcona Community Garden before the attack.

The suspect is described as a white man, 30- to 40- years-old, 5’10” tall, with an athletic build. He was wearing a black rain jacket and his face was covered with a red bandana.
