A four-car crash northbound in the Massey Tunnel’s counter flow lane caused delays of up to 30 minutes this morning.
The accident is now cleared but traffic is backed up into Delta along Highway 99.
Matt Pitcairn, who was caught in the jam, posted on Twitter that he was picking up debris and pushing cars out of traffic.
A vehicle was also abandoned in the HOV lane along Highway 99 northbound before the Highway 17A overpass.

The George Massey was a blast today. Major accidents North & South of the tube. I even got to pick up debris & push cars of out of traffic. This unsafe, under capacity, inadequate tunnel needs to be replaced and upgraded immediately, and not in 10+ years. #RichmondBC #BCpoli pic.twitter.com/7KYc6NneOU
