Seth Rogen? Ryan Reynolds? Canuck the Crow?

Who is just Vancouver enough to be named the city’s unofficial ambassador? CBC is endeavoring to find out with a 64-entry, NCAA-style bracket competition to determine just that. Launched Tuesday, the public broadcaster’s contest gives residents the chance to vote on who should be Metro Vancouver’s unofficial ambassador.

First round match-ups pit local artists, rising stars, local legends and high-profile entrepreneurs against each other. Canuck the Crow takes on Mayor Gregor Robertson. Ryan Reynolds battles Carrie-Anne Moss. Douglas Coupland faces off against John Fluevog. Seth Rogen, the new voice of TransLink, goes up against Wanting Qu. In a battle of West Vancouver songstresses, Sarah McLachlan takes on Diana Krall.

The contest will play out online over the next two weeks.
