PHOTOS: Burnaby Central seniors get a nearly normal grad

Balloons, a mini-stage and professional photos graced a corner of Burnaby Central Secondary, giving the school’s outgoing seniors as close to a regular grad ceremony as they could hope for in the age of COVID.

Groups of 10 students – joined by two parents – were spaced out into half-hour slots throughout the day to maintain a safe physical distance. They marched onto a small, foot-high stage where parents could take their photo with the principal Dianne Carr (again,  with space between them) and got their picture taken in another room.

Teachers even signed a year-book themed page for each student in lieu of yearbooks.
