Alleged use of date rape drugs at Squamish bar

Two separate incidents being investigated by RCMP
1

Date rape drugs may have been slipped into drinks, causing victims to black out for hours, allege Squamish RCMP.

Two separate cases are being investigated.

In the first case, a male was arrested after a woman was at a local downtown bar and blacked out.

The incident was reported on Nov. 19, but officers say it happened the Saturday before.

For the second case, officers say a man had been drinking with friends at the same downtown bar and blacked out, not remembering what happened that night.

Police were informed of the matter on Nov. 25 and are investigating.

Squamish RCMP are warning people to get their drinks from bartenders themselves and never leave their glasses unattended.

Anyone with any information regarding the above files are asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 or contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to www.solvecrime.ca
