Nominees announced for 2014 UBCP/ACTRA Awards

Rave reviews and Facebook likes are fine and dandy, but for many of our city’s hard-working actors and actresses, there’s nothing quite as validating as recognition from their peers.

On Nov. 22, local film and television performers will laud their own at the 2014 UBCP/ACTRA Awards, the nominees for which were announced on Monday.

Awards will be handed out in five categories – Best Actor; Best Actress; Best Newcomer; Best Voice; and Best Stunt – to UBCP/ACTRA members for work completed in the last year.

The nominees are:

In addition to the five performance awards, two UBCP/ACTRA industry awards will be presented: the Lorena Gale Woman of Distinction Award and the John Juliani Award of Excellence.

The UBCP/ACTRA Awards will be handed out in a gala ceremony at the Vancouver Playhouse on Nov. 22. Tom Cavanagh will host Follow the festivities at #ubcpactraawards.
