Christopher Hase starting buying lottery tickets waaaaay back in the 1970s.

He finally won.

And, he says, it was worth the wait to win a $1 million Maxmillions prize.

“You can’t win if you don’t have a ticket,” said Hase, who picked up his $1 million cheque from BCLC after matching all seven numbers in the Lotto Max Draw Dec. 14, 2018.

“I try to make sure I have a ticket for every draw,” said Hase. “I always use the Quick Pick.”

After taking a few days to consider his life-changing win, Hase and his wife held a Skype meeting with their three children just before New Year’s Day to give them the big news.

“I just want to pass my good fortune onto my immediate family, it will give them all a leg up,” added Hase.

“This will also make our retirement more comfortable.”

Hase is one of 39 British Columbians to win a Lotto Max Maxmillions prize in 2018.
