Top 5 things to do this Wednesday in Vancouver

April 29, 2015

Get pleasured: Comedians Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, best known as, respectively, mustachioed Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation and Karen from Will and Grace, celebrate their celebrity 15-year coupledom through their suggestively titled Summer of 69: No Apostrophe tour tonight at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

Get dogfighting: The CBC's Studio 700 hosts the Vancouver premiere of Awkward Stage Productions' Dogfight, a Tony-nominated musical by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. On the eve of their deployment to the Vietnam War, three young Marines set out for a final night of debauchery, partying and meet an awkward and idealistic waitress.

Get fat: Grammy-nominated rapper and convicted felon Fat Joe does his thing at Venue tonight.

Go to Mass: The Oratorio Singers and Strings present Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, a mass composed for orchestra and four-part choir with tenor, bass and baritone soloists tonight at St. Andrew’s-Wesley Church.

Get loopy: Singer/looper/love guru Doug Koyama offers the last of three looping workshops tonight at WISE Hall offering a chance for vocalists to use a loop pedal for impromptu music composition. Admission by donation.
