Wanna be the star of your next gathering? Just bring dessert! These easy-peasy butternut squash and whiskey tarts are a total breeze to put together, and are the perfect night cap to a nice meal with friends.

Ingredients:

12 frozen tart shells, thawed
1 1/2 cups steamed butternut squash, pureed
1/4 cup whiskey
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 egg
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup whipping cream, for serving (optional)

Method:

Preheat oven to 400. Remove tart shells from freezer, and place in the refrigerator for 10-12 minutes before using.

In a large bowl, combine butternut squash puree, whiskey, maple syrup, melted butter, egg, cinnamon, salt, ginger and nutmeg. Whisk everything together until well combined, then pour even amounts into each tart shell.

Lower oven heat to 375. Bake 35-45 minutes, until golden on sides. Let cool at least 45 minutes before topping with whipped cream (optional).
