THE FOOD GAYS - Cassis Cranberry Sauce

Deck the halls! This cranberry sauce is spiked with an unexpected treat -- Creme de Casis from East Van's own Odd Society Spirits. It makes a cute little hostess gift, if we say so ourselves!

Ingredients:

1 package frozen cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup fresh orange juice

1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup creme de cassis
orange zest (cut into strips)

Method:

Add sugar, juice and water to a pot. Bring it to a gentle boil, then add the cranberries and orange zest. Return to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat, remove orange zest. Cool completely, then add creme de cassis. Stir well.

Let sit at room temperature for 1-2 hours. Tranfer to jars and refrigerate a minimum of 24 hours to set before using. Keeps in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
