While there are a number of places to spend family day across the Lower Mainland, the Vancouver Aquarium takes youngsters on an underwater journey of discovery.
Family Day fun, fins and feathers runs at the Vancouver Aquarium from Saturday, Feb. 16 to Monday, Feb. 18. However, the Aquarium is offering free admission for the first time to children under 12 on Monday.
First, the aquarium invites guests to enjoy an imaginary underwater journey during story time at 10:45 am in the Pacific Canada Pavilion. Following this, they may enjoy the Meet a Parrot program at 11:45 am or the Meet a Penguin program at 2:15 pm in the Teck Engagement Gallery to come face-to-face with two of natures most beautiful birds.
The aquarium will also show the exhilarating Shark: A 4-D Experience in the 4-D theatre every 30 minutes starting at 11:15 am. And, for those looking for a hands-on encounter, the Wet Lab allows guests to touch marine invertebrates like sea stars and sea urchins at 4:20 pm.
In addition, guests are invited to have their faces painted and pose for family photos with Ollie the Otter.
